After trying out a few places, my daughter ultimately chose Rising Sun Karate. She likes that they touch on a little of each fighting styles, even how to handle various weapons (Nunchucks, Bo Staff, Sais, etc.,). I see how my daughter is already gaining confidence. I appreciate the friendly instructors, and how they are teaching the kids, respect and other valuable life lessons. Really glad we found this place.
My 4.5 year old son has been attending Rising Sun for 4 weeks and we absolutely love it. We were having some attention/ behavioral issues and while they haven’t disappeared quite yet, we can definitely tell a huge difference. All the instructors are so patient and great with all the kids. I definitely recommend Rising Sun!
Rising Sun Karate has literally changed my life, my children have gained a skillset and discipline that I could not put a price on. My wife, children and I have been going since last July and the improvement from school, respect and just our relationships together has been life changing. The staff are some of the best in the business and are all really great people. I couldn’t imagine life without rising sun now and am greatful to be part of the team. Shout out to Kyoshi Sprague and Renshi Kirton, you are my heros! Shout out to Master Ellis my kids love you!
I have 2 boys enrolled. We love that they focus on teaching the whole child. They learn how to think positively and how to build their character.
My daughter has been a student here for almost a year and she LOVES it! They have different instructors which helps give different teaching styles to the students. I have noticed that they treat every student with so much respect and dignity, as well as giving them attention. Even the perspective students who aren’t paying, but just trying a lesson. They have alot of extra activities/camps besides the lessons on weekends, and my daughter has recently started private lessons as well. 5 BIG stars!

We started off with just putting our two kids in the karate classes. Soon after, both mom and dad had joined. We absolutely love Rising Sun Karate. The classes are great as are the instructors but most importantly, the family/community feel this place has is unbeatable. Would absolutely recommend to anyone of any age.
I rarely write any reviews. However, I have to this time. What Rising Sun is doing it’s amazing. Master Ellis and Sensei Andrew are great instructors. They are so patient and excellent at working with children of all ages. Keep up the good work! I am very please with how they are treating my son and our family. Simply amazing environment. My daughter is extremely shy but the instructors and students were so welcoming that she begs to go now. She even convinced me to join so now I’m taking kick boxing while she does her karate. Even at an adult level the instructors are very one on one and helpful, we’re addicted 🙂
My daughter has been here a few weeks (new summer start) and has really enjoyed her time here. I was worried because she was pretty nervous about it but she felt very comfortable in class, even though she was the youngest in her group. The instructors are nice and approachable and we have never had any issues with staff. The sport is definitely a financial investment and commitment, but I have enjoyed my daughter growing into her comfort zone and I want her to have the ability to defend herself. We are looking forward to her first belt test in a few weeks!
The experience that my children have while attending Rising Sun Black Belt School has been one of the best and most life changing programs that they have been through. They are so excited every time it is their day to go. Their attitudes have really shown that they are gaining discipline, motivation and over all dedication to not only tasks at school but just as important, they are bringing that and applying these aspects at home. I am so proud of their progress and I look forward to watching them flourish as the days and years go by. Thank you all for guiding my children in this journey 🙏
My 3 kids absolutely LOVE going to Karate. I love the self discipline & hard work they go through but most importantly and life lessons and fun at the end of each class. Top notch instructors and you feel safe when your there. Thank you for teaching my 3 “lil’ ninjas”!
